In my testing it, the Combo J7+ was successful in avoiding spraying water on the rug. The robot was not able to pass over the rug, even though I moved it around many times.

The arm comes with a 240mL tank which can be easily popped out and filled, making it simpler to operate than the mop pads of many other 2-in-1 robots. It uses iRobot PrevisionVision obstacle-avoidance technology which is more advanced than other systems similar to it.

iRobot Combo i5

The machine is designed to be used for mopping and vacuuming with the same machine This is an excellent option for those who are multitaskers. Its vacuuming is done with a specially designed bin that holds up to 60 days' worth of debris and iRobot claims reduces the amount of dust released into the air during the process. The i5+ also comes with dual multi-surface rubber brushes as well as Power-Lifting Suction to tackle dirt, dust pet hair, and stains on hard floors. The iRobot Combo i3 is an updated version of the Roomba i3. It still comes with a HEPA-filter to trap allergens and the same fantastic external dust compartment, but it now supports smart mapping. You can now create zones that are not accessible to prevent the vacuum from vaccuming these areas again. The i3 Plus still has a bunch of other excellent features like its advanced cleaning system, 10x power-lifting suction, and a three-stage process for cleaning.
