As players advance through challenges and Slot Missions unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these options for planning expand. This allows players to create the perfect mission for each challenge.

Gear Slot

Early on in the game players will notice their gear slots get full, resulting in the frequently-repeated "Your Gear Slots are Full" message which prevents Max from selecting new equipment until the old ones are cleared or more space is obtained. The solution to this issue is the Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials which give players more inventory space in exchange for completing challenging missions. However, since the majority of these challenges are scattered throughout the world and could be overlooked, it may take a long time to acquire the maximum number of inventory slots in the game.

Each player has up to five different types of gear in their five Gear Slots. They must be selected from the Gear Selection menu prior to the break-in. Each gear item (except for the Pistol) will take up one Gear Slot, while a grouping of similar items (such as a grouping of Grenades) only takes up one Gear Slot.

Agency Pickups

As you progress in Mission Mastery levels, you unlock various agency pickups across the map. These locations allow you to store items that don't fit in your weapon or gear slot, and take them out later.

These pickups are particularly useful if you need to pass through a frisk at the end of the mission or if you're carrying a weapon that could otherwise cause suspicion. You can only conceal one item in a pickup location.

This DLC also includes new security and asset protection contracts to the agency. To start these missions, simply contact the receptionist at the agency and purchase armor and snacks. Then, head to the mission marker and spot a group upon arrival.
