It's simple to set up, comes with an enormous bin that is easy to empty (albeit somewhat loudly) into a trash can when it's full and is easily programmed to do a complete home clean on a regular basis or when needed.
The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi that lets you monitor it from the Shark app and view its battery level as it cleans. The app allows you to program a cleaning routine and receive push notifications about its status in cleaning, pause it and then resume cleaning or set it to clean only one area. You can also control it using voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app will tell you the power mode it's currently in, namely Eco, Normal, or Max. However, we couldn't determine that any of these modes had a significant impact to cleaning performance.

The j7+ performed admirably in our tests on both carpeted and hard flooring, and was able to remove most of the dirt we tossed at it. It has a hard time dealing with pet hair, large debris and sand. But it can clean them with a little more effort. It also has decent navigation capabilities and a set of cliff sensors to keep it from falling down a flight of stairs or getting stuck on furniture legs.
The J7+ has some minor flaws. One of them is that it could get caught on cords or rugs and doesn't always switch off the mopping function when it's done vacuuming. This is a great model that checks all the boxes.
iRobot's j7+ also has one of the best self-emptying systems we've seen. It deposits its 14oz / 0.4-liter dust container into the base station, where it automatically emptys itself for you. This reduces the amount of trash you'll need to dispose of and you'll only have to replace the reusable dust bag from the dock every 60 days or so, based on how often you use the j7+.
