There is currently a national shortage of medication to treat ADHD symptoms. This is due both to manufacturing issues and an increased demand in the world.

Titration

A highly skilled consultant psychiatrist will conduct a thorough assessment of your ADHD. This includes a medical history and an assessment using the standard ADHD rating scales and questionnaires.

After your evaluation, you will be informed if medication is considered to be beneficial in your case. This will take place at your follow-up appointment (which could be in person via video link or via phone). This process may take several weeks, and requires adjusting your child's dosage slowly until the right balance is reached. Follow-up appointments

Once the evaluation has been completed, you will be able to schedule follow up appointments with your psychiatrist, if necessary. The appointment is typically conducted through a zoom video call. In some circumstances, it might be possible to have an audio-only appointment to be scheduled (again at an additional cost).

In this session, we'll discuss any treatment options and agree upon a bespoke individualised ADHD medication titration plan. This will include an assessment of your medication dose and a discussion of any possible negative side effects you may be experiencing. The titration sessions cost PS150 for face-to-face sessions, and PS60 via telephone or video consultation. Medication costs are additional and are paid directly to the pharmacy.

ADHD can be a hereditary condition, which is why it's crucial to look into your family's history to determine if you're at a greater risk of developing this disorder.

It is essential to be honest and transparent with the clinician during this evaluation, as the information they receive will be used to determine if your ADHD meets the diagnostic criteria. This is an important step, since the wrong diagnosis can result in an inappropriate prescription of medication.

If you've decided you would like to be treated for your ADHD We will schedule a follow-up appointment with one of our psychiatrists that specialize in this area. This can be scheduled within the first few days of your diagnosis if want to start treatment immediately, or within two weeks if prefer to take time to consider the implications of your diagnosis and the options that are available to you.

If you aren't sure which one you prefer it is recommended that you speak to your GP prior to booking your private assessment as some providers have different policies about whether they require the submission of a GP referral letter or not. Check if your GP accepts the Shared Care Agreement, which means you will be referred to them once you leave the clinic for prescription medication.

Medication
