The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great choice if you're looking for a mid-range robot vacuum and mop. It's a great mopping performance but lacks some of the advanced features found in its more expensive sibling.

During tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium pile. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.

1. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the best-rated robots. It offers impressive cleaning power and plenty of features such as the self-emptying dirt container built into its charging base. The robot also learns your cleaning habits and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the touch of a button. You can select a general clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as cereal and rice. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that the entire home is completely cleaned.

This robot vacuum is effective on both bare floors and carpet with a low pile. It can take in large objects and does not lose suction as fast as some others do, and it can even remove pet hair without much difficulty. It's a challenge with plush or high-pile carpets however, iRobot claims that future models will be more efficient.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that uses a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug furniture and walls. It's an improvement over the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used, but we found it only marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also features an advanced filtration system which blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating in your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the high price tag.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors to keep track of the layout of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior. It can then clean your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, and set up virtual boundary markers, so it is aware of areas that require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those on higher-end models and its mopping feature is better still--its spinning pads do a much more impressive job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.

It's only downside is the absence of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. However, it's not a problem for those who want to own one of the best robots available. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than its competitors, and filling it up only takes two or three cycles, even when you have maximum dirt.

For the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has that are less powerful than the high-powered modes, produce very low noise, mop which means you can work or watch television without being distracted. If it encounters the wall or a piece of furniture it gently smacks into it and moves forward.

What distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely on its own, with no need for user intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically transfers physical garbage into the hidden bin and also cleans and drys the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app will only alert you if something is wrong for example, low water levels or a vacuuming session that is cancelled due to the bin being full.

You can also combine or create rooms to alter the way Q Revo handles your home. This is an excellent feature to have if you have several areas of the home with different floor materials or if there's items that need to be removed frequently, such as clothes, toys and books. The robo-vac was also one of the top performers in my test, picking up debris on both carpets as well as hardwood floors with the first pass. It can also vacuum up wet spills however I would recommend cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it comes with a powerful vacuum with powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, as well as a rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also comes with an auto-cleaning base station that automatically empties and washes the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them free of germs and ready to use again. It also comes with a sensor that can detect obstacles better and prevents it from falling onto furniture and other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite big--it's over two feet tall and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the robot itself and its base are much less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when needed.

Lastly it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and an assistant voice that works offline, so you can use it even if you're not at home. It also has a smart routing feature that lets it clean specific rooms or areas of your home, instead of following a set path.

The Omni Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested due to its rotating mop pads that scrub away tough stains and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent too and it increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure that it does the job well. It is equipped with a large rechargeable battery that can last up to a week. The mopping feature of the quietest robot vacuum is also extremely effective.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and robot vacuum that comes with a range of convenience features you do not often find on robots at this price range. It can build detailed floor maps, detect different types of flooring, and it's one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These are nice features but they also place the L10s in the premium category. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners would need.

Created to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device that has an elegant white finish that's enhanced by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which protects the vacuum and furniture from damage when moving through the house. Behind the pane at the front is an additional navigation technology in the form of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum there is a single button which acts as an on/off switch. This button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and send it back to its base station. The central control panel includes an oblique menu that allows you to select cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons open the settings of the app where you can customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.

Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation techniques to help you map out your home. This creates a detailed floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop efficiently and avoid getting stuck in messy areas. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and identify them, which is an excellent feature for homes with pets or children.

The L10s Ultra is an extremely powerful vacuum cleaner, which removes 98.4% debris from our test on hard floors, and removing all but stubborn juice staining. The mops also work well and remove 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. It was not as efficient in removing sand from our hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
